About
A sourcing practice built like a product.
TwentyFourOS is the M&A deal-sourcing practice of Equivalence Labs Ltd, a London software company. We build the research systems, and we run them as a service, with human judgement where it matters.
Sourcing is an information problem before it is a relationships problem.
The UK private market is enormous, public in outline, and mostly unread. Millions of companies trade, grow and change hands largely outside anyone’s field of view. The firms that consistently win off-market deals are the ones that read that landscape systematically instead of waiting for it to announce itself.
Our view is simple: that reading is a software problem, and the approach that follows it is a human one. Most providers do one or the other. We built TwentyFourOS to do both properly. Complete coverage and honest screens on the machine side; candour, confidentiality and consent on the human side.
How the sourcing works
The operating company
Equivalence Labs Ltd
Equivalence Labs is a London software company that builds serious data systems end to end: the engineering, the product, and the reporting that shows exactly what a system did and did not do. TwentyFourOS is one of its practices. The same engineering standards, applied to private-market research and run as a service for acquirers.
- Claims trace to sourcesEvery figure on a profile can be followed back to where it came from.
- Estimates are labelledIf a number is modelled rather than filed, it says so on the page.
- Thin results reported thinIf a thesis returns little, you are told that, not shown padding. If a number cannot be supported, it does not ship.
Principles
Kept deliberately boring.
- Coverage before curationEvery search starts from the whole UK private market. Curated subsets are where good targets go missing.
- Honest labelsEstimates are marked as estimates, scores show their components, and shortlists are never padded. If we do not know, we say so.
- Confidence and consentOwners are approached respectfully, in our own name and in confidence, and introduced only when they have agreed to it.
- Clear scopeResearch and introductions only. We do not advise, value or negotiate, and our work is not FCA-regulated activity.
